The challenge

Livia was experiencing a disconnect between the services offered to its clients by year-end CPA firms and the services they provided as a cloud-based bookkeeping firm. Livia did their best to recommend the best possible year-end solution to its clients as a bookkeeping firm, but there wasn't one working.

Working with traditional firms, Livia's clients experienced delays in receiving deliverables. This was caused by operational inefficiencies in how the firms operated, which caused headaches for its clients that wanted a more digitalized solution.

In addition, most traditional firms in the Quebec market have minimal use of cloud-based technologies, which didn't synchronize well with Livia and its clients. Finally, clients of Livia noted that the unexpected final cost of a year-end certification project caused unnecessary stress for them. In traditional firms that charge by the hour, prices can rise quickly and get out of hand; this is not good for small & medium-sized businesses which need to maximize capital efficiency.
